2023 is SHW’s 50th Anniversary and to help make this year’s Jubilee Wine Competition extra special, a cash award of $200 will be awarded to the Best of Show winner (thank you Bill Staehlin, Gin Yang, and an anonymous donor!). This wine competition is Club exclusive; only current members can compete.
Whether you’re a seasoned competitor or a newer wine maker whose wine is just coming into its own, enter the competition! You just might take home some showy bling and a fatter wallet! Entries close on May 17 and judging takes place on June 3.
Let’s get you started:
- Read the 2023 Jubilee Wine Competition rules and info here.
- Then register you or your team as an entrant here. You’ll be prompted to begin entering your wines.
- Deliver your entries. Registered entries will be accepted at both the April 19 and May 17 Club meetings. Entries may also be dropped off at strategic locations as identified in the rules and info. Please be mindful of the dates and times.
Jubilee Wine Label Competition.

Jubilee Picnic and Awards Ceremony.
The June 4 Sunday afternoon Jubilee Picnic will again be at the lovely grounds of Judy Pinegar’s in Loomis. Don Vinson will be smoking delicious meats, we’ll munch on potluck dishes, find out who took the top awards in competition, taste the competition’s wines, vote on your fave wine labels, support the club with a little fundraising, and chill under the trees. SHW Winemaker of the Year Award.
The Club’s Rex Johnston Memorial Winemaker of the Year (WOY) award is a coveted honor where the competition is fierce! To qualify to compete, WOY entrants must enter three recognized home wine competitions in 2023 of which two are the SHW Jubilee and the California State Fair Home Wine Competition.
