Vineyard Soil Management
📅 February 21
⏰ 9:00 am – 11:00 am
📍 4255 Burnett Rd Lincoln, CA 95648
Join PCWGA for an education session on the importance, and best practices, of caring for your soil to ensure a healthy and productive vineyard.
This talk aims to take a practical, real-world look at how soil health can be evaluated and improved in Placer County vineyards. This discussion will cover what soil health really means in a vineyard setting, how to use soil testing to guide management decisions, and how practices like cover cropping and targeted sheep grazing can improve soil structure, biology, and nutrient cycling. We’ll also explore the role of organic matter, water infiltration, and soil biology in supporting vine health and long-term efficiency. This presentation is grounded in hands-on vineyard experience and is designed to give growers clear, usable insights they can apply directly in their own vineyards.
