SHW’s Winemaking 101 Workshop, Beginning Winemaking is filling up fast. This workshop is offered just once a year so don’t miss your chance to get red wine making basics down or refresh your skills. The 2-part workshop starts with an evening Zoom on Thursday, August 7, 6:30 -9 pm, and a “Field Day” on Saturday, August 9 beginning at 9 am. The Zoom gets you going with book basics including items and equipment that you’ll need. Field Day, at a home winery in Granite Bay, is filled with demonstrations, mentors, inspiration, a vineyard walk, and a potluck lunch and wine tasting.
At the workshop, you’ll also learn about a Beginning Winemakers group crush, designed for WM 101 workshop participants (members only). The grapes are pre-sourced and the grower continues the wine making education to get you started on your first vintage.
If you’re already an SHW member, you can take the workshop at no cost for up to 2 people at the same address. The workshop fee for non-members is $30 per person. If joining SHW by August 9, the workshop fee is waived.
