Happy New Year to All!

We have fun and interesting programs and e vents lined up in 2026! Starting at the January 21 meeting, you’ll hear wite judge Mike Dunne talking about what goes on inside the heads of wine judges during competitions. More to come!

The monthly programs and other educational events are designed to increase members’ wine making knowledge. Let us know what you are interested in learning more about by completing this Education Survey. It’s on-line and takes only a couple of minutes. Do you have topics that you’d like for the Clb to know more about? Contact Education Committee Chair Chuck Rairdan at chuck.rairdan@gmail.com.

Support the Club by renewing your 2026 membership dues. The dues help cover the Club’s operating expenses including facility rental, insurance, wines and snacks at the monthly meetings and the Club’s Jubilee wine competition. By renewing your membership, you’ll continue to receive notices like this for just about everything – grapes and wine making equipment for sale, educational opportunities, and Club events. Contact Tammy Cross, Membership Chair at lkcross@aol.com with questions about membership.

The Unified Wine and Grape Symposium on January 27-29 at the SAFE Credit Unition in downtown Sacramento is one of the largest wine and viticulture symposiums in North America. SHW procures a limited number passes for the of exhibits (January 29). The passes are $10 each for Club members and to get on the wait list, contact Gin at ginyangstaehlin@yahoo.com.

When you need to, there are a few ways to contact the SHW leadership team. At the Club’s website home page, there’s a Contact Us tab. You can find team members contact info here. At the meetings, don’t hesitate to share your thoughts with President Byron Froman or Vice President Donna Bettencourt.
