Leo Prada, the owner of Recoop Barrels, will be presenting on May 21st at our next SHW program meeting on how his method of recycling oak barrels is superior to other methods such as steaming power washing or dry ice blasting. He will also be able to answer those burning questions on barrel care and use for the home winemaker. Reusing barrels is not only economical, but also provides an environmentally sustainable alternative to discarding old barrels. Available sizes are from 15 gallons to 60 gallons.
The Tasting Table is back for this meeting. If you wish to have a bottle of wine evaluated at the meeting anonymously, bring your wine to the Tasting Table near the room’s entrance. Sue Nemeth will check in your wine. Label your wine only with the variety / blend and vintage. Meeting attendees will anonymously leave comments on the wines they taste. When you leave the meeting, remember to pick up you wine and written comments.
Thr meeting starts at 7 pm upstairs at the Turn Verein located at 3349 J Street in Sacramento. Front doors open at 6:30 pm. Bring your wine glass and an optional bottle of wine to share.
Your help setting up and cleaning up is appreciated. Please help keep everyone healthy. Enjoy responsibly.
