This Wednesday, May 20th, Aaron Lawson PhD will be joining us at our monthly meeting. Aaron received his PhD from Cornell University and began his winemaking journey as a home winemaker! Currently, Aaron is both the winemaker and co-owner of Raven’s Reach Winery, Sutter Creek, CA (Amador County) and will be presenting wine blending techniques, focusing on blending lesser-known varietals.
Members will have the opportunity to taste a couple of the individual varietals, side by side with a blend made from them.
We will learn about the distinct characteristics of each varietal and how blending these wines can create a different wine that becomes more than the sum of its parts.
