Sacramento Home Winemakers’ Jubilee Picnic and Awards Party will be Sunday May 19, 2024. Mark your calendars! The location will be Judy Pinegar’s Back Yard and Barn as in past years. The picnic begins at 1 PM with the main course service planned for about 2:00 PM.

At the Picnic, you’ll hear about which wines and wine makers earned the top awards at the previous day’s Jubilee Wine Competition.  In Judy’s barn, you’ll also have a chance to vote in the Jubilee’s Wine Label Competition and check out the silent auction items.

The club provides pork sliders, chili beans, a couple of salads and lots of water. Wines from the competition will be available for tasting, including the Golds and Best of Show.  Last year, there were over 150 wine entries.

Please bring a dish to share at the potluck: appetizer, salad, entree, or dessert according to the following list based of the first initial of your surname: A – H = Entrées/Salad; I – L = Desserts; M – Z = Appetizers.

Remember to bring your own wine glasses.

Make your picnic reservations online using this form, and reserve by May 10. Members are $10 and members’ guests are $15 (guests should also bring a dish to share). Judy’s address will be on your reservation confirmation that you’ll receive when your transaction is complete.

For those of you who are new to the event, Judy’s place has 2 ½ acres with room to explore nature in the spring. Some of Judy’s lawn chairs are available, but club members should bring their own lawn chairs, blankets, or whatever if they want to be sure to have a place to sit on the lawn under the trees.

The event is great fun – the trampoline and lawn games are available. The party sometimes goes until dark… so plan on making a day of it!

All members are welcome! Members’ children, guests, and “only if they are friendly to other pets” pets are welcome! The pool could be opened but requires full-time parent supervision.

Judy is requesting volunteers to help get her place ready to party and for helping with clean-up afterwards.  Please share the work by volunteering a couple  of hours – thanks!

Please email Judy at judypinegar@gmail.com if you can generously volunteer or need directions.
