SHW’s Holiday Party is already in the planning stages! We’ve secured a caterer for dinner and reserved the Turn Verein for Wednesday, December 9. It’s also time to start thinking about donations for the Annual Silent Auction and Raffle held the same evening.
Our annual Holiday Party’s silent auction and raffle is the Club’s primary fundraiser, with proceeds helping to support our community and keep the Club thriving.
What types of items can you donate?
- Wine and Food, of course! Bottles of award-winning wine, gift certificates to restaurants and wineries, food and wine baskets, culinary lessons, edible goodies, charcuterie boards, and fruit, to name a few.
- Good Times! A weekend away at your second home, cabin, or beach house; tickets to shows or sporting events; a round of golf; garden tours; art walks; hosted dinners; concerts; or movies. You can even share your favorite fishing spot or offer one-on-one beekeeping or music lessons!
- Make Life Easier! Professional services, a few hours of dog-sitting, help pruning vines, financial consulting, etc.
- Eye Candy! Wine-themed decorative items, wine glasses, and cutting boards, alongside creative items like handmade ornaments, purses, and jewelry.
- Don’t forget the winemaking gear! Wine grapes, winemaking supplies, new cased bottles, and gift certificates to wine supply stores.
How to Donate
Donations will be accepted at the October and November meetings. Alternatively, other arrangements can be made—including dropping items off the night of the event with advance notice. (Note: Large items are typically displayed with photos and detailed descriptions only, so there is no need to transport heavy items before the sale!)
