Shake Ridge Ranch & Vineyards is situated in the Sierra Foothills, five miles east of Sutter Creek. Since 2005, they have been the source of fruit to 40 different boutique wineries, including Turley, Tablas Creek, Tribute to Grace, Bedrock among many others, providing excellent quality grapes with character, color and concentration. (A full description of the ranch and wines can be found at https://www.jancisrobinson.com/articles/shake-ridge-ranch-all-its-glory.)
Shake Ridge grapes are tended with constant attention, yet minimal and judicious intervention. The entire ranch is farmed organically – using just enough organic fertilizer and compost to support natural growth, utilizing cover crops for both nutrition and erosion control, attacking pests with natural predators and netting before harvest.
