Get your 2024 red Bordeaux varieties evaluated at the Club’s August 20 meeting. Red Bordeaux varieties include merlot, cabernet sauvignon, malbec, cabernet franc, petit verdot, and touriga nacional. Owner and Head Winemaker Greg Burns of Jessie’s Grove in Lodi is the evening’s evaluator for SHW’s August 20 meeting. The purpose of the evaluation is to provide feedback on your wine and identify the next steps.
- Bring the equivalent of two 750 ml bottles so that meeting attrendees can taste along with the evaluator;
- If bottling the 2 bottles a few days prior to the meeting, do not add sulfites to those bottles; otherwise, we won’t be able to taste the wine;
- Do not use capsules or wax;
- Complete this wine evaluation form and email to Vice President Byron Froman by Monday, August 18 so that he has time to your add it to the slides. This form is also on the website’s home page on the right side;
- Be prepared to share the wine’s vitals and its young life at the meeting; and
- Check in with the cellarmaster (hanging around the bar) when you arrive with your bottles.
No Tasting Table at this meeting. Tasting Table returns at the September SHW meeting.
Sentia testing samples will be accepted at the meeting for free SO2, total acidity, malic acid, glucose and frutose. Look for the Sentia testing table.
