Fellow Sacramento Home Winemakers Members! You have another opportunity to have your wine judged in time to be considered for entry into the coveted Sacramento Home Winemakers -Winemaker of the Year award. This recognition of winemaking excellence is the top award handed out each year at our holiday dinner in December.
The Placer County Wine & Grape Association (PCWGA) is having their 2026 Home Wine Competition on October 7, 2026. Entry drop-off deadline is September 30, 2026. However, Jim Allen, President of PCWGA, will be accepting wine submissions at our next SHW member meeting on September 16, 2026.
As a bonus, if you bring your wine to Jim at the meeting, the entry cost is only $15.00, which is the PCWGA member price. Entries after the meeting will be $20.00. Thank you Jim! This may be the last chance of the 2026 year to have your wine evaluated, which is a good thing.

| 2026 Annual Home Winemaking Competition This is your opportunity as an amateur winemaker to receive objective feedback on your craft. Each wine is evaluated by a panel of local commercial vintners, industry professionals, and wine connoisseurs using the UC Davis 20-point judging system.
