We have a potential opportunity available for both new and experienced Rosé winemakers. This would be a fantastic opportunity for winemakers that have been interested and intrigued by making a Rosè, but have yet to dip their toes into the realm of whites and rosès.

We propose the following:

Interested parties will meet at the Froman Farm where we will pick, weigh, and crush Froman Estate Barbera grapes.

While the grapes are cold soaking before pressing, we will enjoy a light luncheon including previous Rosés made with these grapes, and discuss the next steps in producing your own potential gold (or better) Barbera Rosé.

When the grapes have completed their cold soaking, we will press and send you on your way with your Rosé juice for you to let it settle in your cold space before beginning fermentation.

This is a wonderful opportunity for those of you who would like to sit down with Byron and Scott and pick their brains about yeast strains and tips and tricks they have used successfully. The goal is for this event to be very casual and fun, all while learning and team building.

Important things you should know:

  1. Grapes are $.50/lb, you help pick and crush
  2. Some knowledge in white/rosé winemaking is useful, but not necessary as long as you have a chilled space to store the juice.
  3. Space is extremely limited as Byron only has so many Barbera vines.
  4. Lunch is part potluck, please bring a dish to share. Kathryn and Tammy will provide the rest.
  5. Barbera is currently at 16 brix
