Recently, we were contacted by Jim Morris of Shine Wine Services with an unusual request. Due to the recent death of the Winery owner, MoniClaire Vineyards is liquidating their wines. After much discussion with Jim and the Winemaking Consultant, Lisa Bishop Forbes, the decision to offer the wine to our club members was made.

First and foremost, this comes with a caveat. Neither myself or any club member has been to the winery to inspect or taste the wines or the condition of the wines.

The wines available for sale are as follows:

2024 Petite Sarah from MoniClaire and Pony Ranch Vineyards – 225 gal

2024 Zinfandel from MoniClaire Estate – 190 gal

2024 Zinfandel from Pony Ranch Vineyards – 180 gal

2025 Petite Sirah from MoniClaire and Pony Ranch Vineyards – 145 gal

2025 Zinfandel from MoniClaire Estate – 170 gal

2025 Zinfandel Rosè from Pony Ranch Vineyards – 140 gal

MoniClaire is hoping to liquidate these wines immediately. The barrels could possibly be included in the price, which is expected to be between $12 and $14 a gallon, as the broker considers this to be fair market value. I have not been provided with any information on the age, condition, or type of the barrels. Whether or not the racks are included, has not been determined. I have had communication with the Winemaking Consultant and she has a set management program (topping and testing) for the barreled wine.

If you are interested, you may contact Jim Morris at (707) 888-2301 and he can give you more details, or schedule a tasting with the Winemaker.
