Punch down early, take the evening off, and come to the September 17 SHW meeting. Darcy and Robert Wharton spent part of their summer in Italy’s Tuscan region and they’ll be sharing their adventures, sights, wines and tastes with you at the meeting. Bring your wine glass so that you can enjoy some Tuscan tastes.
The Tasting Table is back at the September meeting. What’s the Tasting Table? This is when you can bring a wine to a meeting anonymously and the wine gets evaluated anonymously (in writing) by attendees at the meeting. How this works: label your wine with the variety / blend and vintage only. Find Sue Nemeth near the front door next to the Tasting Table – she’ll discreetly check in your wine. Leave your wine at the table. Before and after the meeting, members can taste your wine and give feedback. Before your leave the meeting, pick up your wine and written notes.
The September 17 meeting starts at 7 pm upstairs at the Turn Verein located at 3349 J Street in Sacramento. Front doors open at 6:30 pm; bring your wine glass and an optional bottle to share. Your help setting up and cleaning up is appreciated.
