Our September 20th meeting will focus on the evaluations of fruit / sweet / fortified / dessert. and sparkling wines, and we will be joined by Bob Joakimson as our guest evaluator.  Although Bob is a relatively new member to our club, he is certainly not a new winemaker as this year alone he has won  many golds, double golds, best of class, best of shows, a Grand Champion, and Winemaker of the Year awards from Orange County, California State Fair,  and Winemaker Magazine International Amateur Wine Competitions. We’re looking forward to an exciting evening and getting to pick Bob’s brain on how he does it all.

  • Please bring the equivalent of two 750 ml bottles of each wine you would like evaluated along with the completed wine evaluation form which can be found here (2 copies – one for Bob and one for you)
  • Clearly mark your wines with your name, varietal / wine, and vintage. Check in with the cellar master at the bar.

If you are donating 1-2 wines for the UC Davis TASTE event, please bring them to the September 20 meeting and look for Byron Froman.

Bring 2 wine glasses for your use at the meeting. The meeting starts at 7 pm upstairs at the Turn Verein located at 3349 J Street, Sacramento. The front door entry into the building opens after 6:30 pm.
