The Executive Board of the Sacramento Home Winemakers has peered into its crystal ball and set a date for the return of the Jubilee, the Club’s member-only home winemaking competition.
With that said, SHW Chief Judge Donna Bettencourt has determined that there is a sufficient number of 2021 recognized home wine competitions to reinstate the Rex Johnston Winemaker of the Year (WOY) competition. This competition and award honors the unparalleled accomplishments in not only home winemaking, but mentorship, of member Rex Johnston. This award recognizes the SHW member who has been recognized for their excellence in home winemaking, as determined by their results in designated home wine competitions.
Those who wish to compete for the 2021 WOY must enter at least two separate and distinct home wines in the 2021 Sacramento Home Winemakers Jubilee AND 2021 Orange County Fair Home Wine Competition, and a third 2021 competition of their choosing. Rules for the 2021 SHW Jubilee competition are forth coming…please check back soon. WOY applications are due by November 30, 2021. Details to follow.
