Element 79 Vineyards is located in the highly regarded Fair Play AVA of El Dorado County/Sierra Foothills at 2400 feet elevation.

Zinfandel – Our Zinfandel has won Double Gold at the San Francisco Chronicle Commercial Wine Competition. It is Dupratt clone on 101-14 rootstock, VSP and cordon pruned to 8×5 spacing and farmed with great pride and best practices. We prune to a yield of 4 tons per acre and we use deficit irrigation practices both which enhanced flavors. $.65 per pound and minimum of 500 lbs. I think this is all sold but I will keep you posted as we get closer to and into harvest.

Syrah – We will have a few tons available this year. It is the fantastic 877 Clone on 101-14 rootstock, VSP and cane pruned to 8×5 spacing and farmed with great pride and best practices. We sell all that we don’t use to a top tier Napa winemaker. It looks like we will have a few tons over what is contracted. No watering was necessary this year. $.90 per pound and a minimum of 500 lbs. It looks like harvest will be mid -September.

Cabernet Sauvignon – Element 79 Vineyards produces outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Clone 337 on 3309 rootstock. Grown in sandy loam soil with warm days and cool nights allowing full flavor development while maintaining acidity. VSP and farmed to 3 tons per acre. High quality C.S. grapes without the high price. These grapes have been going to a Napa winemaker but due to high inventory they won’t be taking their normal allocation this year. Their loss is your gain. $.90 per pound and a minimum of 500 lbs. Probably mid-September harvest.

Petite Sirah – These grapes also come from the highly regarded Element 79 Vineyards. Grown in sandy loam soil with warm days and cool nights allowing full flavor development while maintaining acidity. VSP and cordon trained with 8×5 spacing. Farmed to 3-4 tons per acre. High quality amazing award winning Petite Sirah. We call our The Purple Beast. $.95 per pound and a minimum of 500 lbs.

Viognier – We may have a couple tons of this award winning Viognier available. This has won Double Gold at the S.F. Chronicle Commercial Wine Competition. Give me a call if to see what we have available. $.65 per pound and a minimum of 500 lbs. We will be harvesting late August and Early September.

We employ our own vineyard staff and the best farming practices to produce the highest quality grapes. We never cut corners. You and your membership know better than most that good wine starts on the vine.

We will pick it for you but you must bring your own macro bins or containers. We have a forklift on site and will load for you.

Come up to our tasting room and taste the estate wines we make from these grapes. We are open for outdoor tasting and take all appropriate measures to prevent the spread of Covid19.
