The California State Fair Home Wine and Label Competitions are back in 2014 after a 2-year MIA. The Fair’s Home Wine Coordinators, and also SHW Members, Tom and Rebecca Ramme are looking for volunteers to work the competitions. They write:
“…This competition has a rich tradition and is dedicated to increasing the knowledge, skill and abilities of amateur winemaking. We are so excited that this event is back on for 2014 and it can’t happen without the dedication of our fabulous volunteers!
The competition will require one full day and will be held on Saturday, May 10th at CalExpo – that is the California State Fairgrounds on Exposition Boulevard in Sacramento. Volunteers will receive wine from the competition and State Fair tickets. Volunteers are needed for these jobs:
– Panel Assistants
In addition, we are also looking for a few workers ahead of time for jobs like picking up wines and processing entries in the evenings the week before the competition, plus a few folks to help after the competition with activities like organizing the awards ceremony, score sheet mailing, etc. …”
