September 16 Meeting – Successful Fermentations

Whether your harvest has yet to start, or are in the middle of fermentation. or just pressed your batch, don’t miss this Wednesday’s (September 16) meeting on fermentation practices to get you the results you want.  John Troiano, winemaker and co-owner of Wreckless Blenders in Carmichael spends the evening with us talking about successful fermentation practices.  He’ll also answer your questions about fermentations – primary or secondary/malo-lactic conversion.  John started out as a home winemakers (a former SHW member) so he’s aware of small batch fermentations.

Wreckless Blenders 2013 Touriga earned a gold medal and Best of Region – Foothills at this year’s Califorinia State Fair commercial wine competition.  The El Dorado County Tourgia grapes are from Shaker Ridge Vineyard owned by Andy and Elizabeth Standeven, who are also SHW members.  John plans to bring the wine for tasting.  Please bring a wine glass for your use, and if you like, a bottle to share at the meeting.

Meeting starts at 7PM upstairs at the Turn Verein located at 3349 J Street in midtown Sacramento.  Thanks for helping clean up after the meeting.
