The Beverage People – their website contains several winemaking articles on beginning winemaking, wine additives, maintenance, and enhancements. They have classes on making wine, beer, mead, and cheese.
Ready to Bottle? – Nancy Vineyard, co-founder and previous owner of The Beverage People in Santa Rosa has written a detailed article to assist winemakers in determining whether their wine is ready to bottle. Her article offers numerous tips on remedying a host of issues including: too many bubbles (in a still wine), whiffs of garlic, onion or burnt match; and too sweet or too dry wine. Her article entitled Cellar Checks for Bottling can also be found on the business’ website.

Winemaking Manual by Lum Eisenman – A to Z of amateur winemaking, 169 pages. Mr. Eisenman has been a lifelong resident of southern California, spending the last 57 years in San Diego County. He worked as a teenager in the Zinfandel vineyards and wineries of the Cucamonga Valley, and then spent a career as a physicist, while making garage based home winemaking an art form. Upon his retirement, he wrote and published The Home Winemakers’ Manual, which he generously published on the internet for all to share.
