Home Wine Making Booth Volunteers – California State Fair

Contact Fred Millar at fredmillar1@gmail.com.

The home wine making booth returns to the California State Fair! Top winners of the Fair’s home wine making and label contests will be featured at the booth plus the Fair invites the area’s home wine making clubs to share the joy of home wine making with fair goers.

Strategically located adjacent to the Fair’s Wine Garden, the home wine making booth is next to a demonstration area which will be shared with the neighboring home brew booth.  There will be a destemmer-crusher and press in the booth and hopefully, a couple of burping carboys.

Fred Millar is coordinating SHW’s effort for volunteer staffing of this booth.  The State Fair runs from Friday, July 11 through Sunday, July 27.  Volunteer shifts are 3-4 hours long with 2 people per shift.  Volunteers will receive free parking and admittance to the fair.

If you are interested in volunteering, please refer to the State Fair schedule: 2014 Home Brew & Winemaking Schedule.  The grey times are not available for volunteering.  Identify which shift(s) you are interested and whether you’ll be volunteering alone or with someone else.   Then contact Fred at fredmillar1@gmail.com AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.  Leave a message with:  your name and phone number, number of people volunteering and the shift(s) you are interested in.

This opportunity is a fun way to spread the word about home winemaking and to see what the rest of the California State Fair has to offer!
