9 AM – 11 AM – in the vineyard
11 PM – 1 PM – we’ll scoot next door to Mellow Wood Winery where Chef Giovanni will be cooking up tasty snacks
2 PM – 3 PM – we’ll trot down for Wine Salon Tasting – 5 Flights at Winery by the Creek
and then, if you’re still game
we’ll have a choice of a couple release parties – Morse Wines or Van Der Vijver Winery.

Enjoy a day in the vineyard and learn to prune vines with this unique hands-on experience.
SHW member John Avila is offering pruning clinics at his Petite Sirah vineyard in Fair Play on Saturday mornings, March 30, April 6, and possibly on April 20. Join John in the vineyard from 9-11 AM, and then he’ll provide lunch following pruning. Since your hands will want to keep working, you can opt to flex those fingers around a couple of wine glasses – John can show you around to a couple of local wineries.
And, if you’re interested in making Petite Sirah in the upcoming harvest, a discount is provided on this fruit dependent upon your participation.

Linda Neal of Mellowood Vineyard in Fair Play is offering pruning clinics. She writes:
“Each year I hold assorted Vineyard Clinics, the most popular being the Pruning Clinic.
These events are designed for the passionate wine drinker that wants to deepen their
connection to the vines. You do not need a vineyard to enjoy this hands-on activity.
After a brief instruction, you will be given the shears used by pros and prune your own
vine. You can then attach your name tag and monitor “your” vine throughout the year.
There is no charge to participate, but advance sign up is required.
Choose your time and date:
March 2nd, 10 am
March 2nd, 2 pm
