There are still several shifts available at the SHW Winemaker booth at the CA State Fair opening this Friday. Some people don’t realize that our club is financially compensated to staff the booth during the run of the fair…to the tune of about $1,500. Working a shift provides you with a complementary parking pass and gate pass. Please lend a hand by helping to staff the booth.

Clos du Lac’s home wine competition is this Saturday, July 13. All SHW home winemakers are invited to compete and the top winemaker wins 200 lbs of cabernet franc from Clos du Lac’s vineyard. Check out the details here.
Please contact ASAP Ken Ueltzen at email@example.com of your interest.
As mentioned at the recent SHW membership meeting, once again this year our club will be staffing the winemakers booth at the upcoming CA State Fair. If you have at least one year of winemaking under your belt, you have sufficient experience to participate. Don’t worry about being stumped by fairgoer questions. Most questions focus on the goals of our club and a general idea of what it takes to make wine at home.
If you have the time, feel free to volunteer for multiple shifts and/or days. Questions? Contact Robert Wharton at firstname.lastname@example.org. To sign-up, go here (https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0F49ABAA23A2F94-volunteers2).
Many SHW members have purchased grapes from the Clos du Lac (CDL) Community Vineyard in Loomis. CDL invites SHW members and previous CDL grape buyers to compete in their 2019 Home Wine Making Competition. Competing wines don’t need to be made from CDL grapes but preferred. The best wine wins 200 lbs of CDL cabernet franc grapes!
Please contact Ken Ueltzen at email@example.com by July 10 of your interest.
