March 20 – General Meeting: 2018 White and Rosé Wines Evaluation. Guest evaluators: Craig Haarmeyer and Kurt Burris. Bring in your white and rosé wines from the fall harvest and get them evaluated before you bottle. You’ll receive tips on possible adjustments that can make your good wine into one they won’t forget.

April 17 – General Meeting: Red Wine Roundtable. Bring your wine for discussion of its attributes in an informal interactive atmosphere. Check out this post for more information.

May 15 – General Meeting: Non-Bordeaux Varieties Red Wine Evaluation. Guest Evaluator: John Troiano, winemaker for Wreckless Blenders. Bring your 2018 red non-Bordeaux varieties wines for tasting and comment.
June 1-2 – Jubilee! Enter your best into the Club-exclusive wine competition. Wine judging is on Saturday, June 1 with awards ceremony and picnic on Sunday, June 2. The Deets.

A Saturday in Mid – September: Beginning Winemakers Crush. Specially designed group crush for new and novice winemakers who have participated in WM 101. Wine making mentors available to assist you through fermentation. Participants must be certified to use Club equipment.
September 18 – General Meeting: Shea Comfort, The Yeast Whisperer. Shea will be sharing his thoughts on yeasts, fermentation and malo-lactic conversion. Shea can tackle your geekiest winemaking questions!
October 16 – General Meeting: Taste the Gold: Top Medal Wines. SHW members are encouraged share their best wines that earned top honors in competitions. Bring your winemaking notes and talk about your techniques to crafting your recognized wines. $10 per person non-member.
October 26, Saturday – Harvest Dinner. Unwind from the harvest at dinner with fellow winemakers at Vince’s Ristorante in West Sacramento. Bring wines to share; corkage waived. Reservations required; details to follow.
November 20 – General Meeting: Sweets, Bubblies, Fortifieds, Fruits Evaluations. Guest Evaluator: Luke Laubaugh. Bring your wines – fruits, ports, fortifieds, bubbles, and experiments for tasting and evaluation. Luke, UC Davis Viticulture and Enology alum, is the assistant winemaker at Lodi’s St. Amant Winery.

January 15, 2020 – General Meeting: Chik Brenneman, winemaker and partner with Baker Family Wines in West Sacramento kicks off the first meeting of the new year and decade. Chik shares his thoughts and philosophy on all things winemaking. Who knows? Grower partner baseball legend Dusty Baker just might share the table with Chik! $15 per person for non-members.
