Are you back from the long holiday weekend?
Remember how hard your crush crew worked on YOUR wines this harvest? Show them that you care and bring them to the December 13 SHW Holiday Party. They’ll have a chance to taste a variety of wines, mingle with other crush teams, and maybe discover that your wines are pretty good! Party reservation form can be found here.
Party Fundraising Coordinator Vickie Rosalli welcomes your donations for the silent auction and raffle items. The diff? Silent auction items are bid on quietly (check your bids throughout the evening often) and is awarded to the highest bidder. These include gems such as art work, wine dinners, Tahoe lodging, winery tours, and cooking lessons.
Purchasers of raffle tickets drop as many tickets as they’d like into the bag that corresponds with the raffle item and gets the item if their ticket is drawn. Raffle items can include logo goodies, holiday cookies, wine-related items, and small plants.
You can drop off your auction / raffle donations at various locations by December 7:

This Wednesday’s meeting is packed with all sorts of fun!
Business first! Elections will be held for the 2018 executive board positions – president, vice president, secretary, treasurer and membership chair. The Board of Directors has accepted nominations and more will be accepted from the floor on Wednesday night. Vote by proxy if you can’t come to the meeting. And next…remember to bring 2 wine glasses and enjoy tastes of wines that earned gold medals this year. The corresponding winemakers will be sharing their secrets for making top award winning wines.
Don’t pack up those wine glasses yet! Luke Laubaugh studied wine in France this summer and will be sharing his experiences and sights of some of the best wine regions in that country. He’s also put together a French wine tasting sampler so that we can enjoy armchair traveling at its best.
No monthly meeting in December. Instead we wrap up the year with the annual SHW Holiday Party on December 13. Treasurer Jacque Brown will be at the meeting to receive your party reservations. The party form can be found here and on the right side of the SHW website.
Holiday Party Fundraiser Coordinator Vickie Rosalli will be at the meeting to receive your fundraiser donations. Pssst…do you have something extra special to contribute? This is the time to share with Vickie. Be sure to look for the volunteers who will be selling raffle tickets at the meeting.
We’re raffling off 2 Holiday Party admissions worth $50 each at Wednesday’s meeting. Two tickets will be drawn. $5 for one ticket; $10 for 3 tickets.
