“I love this website and all the things your club is doing. Unfortunately, I’m in Colorado so can’t participate in the activities. I was wondering if you happen to have any members who ship fresh grapes out of state. I am purchasing a ton of fresh grapes, will be picking them up at the vineyard in Northern California and have a 20 hour drive in front of me before I can crush and begin fermentation. I want to avoid spoilage and spontaneous fermentation etc. I’d be curious to know if anyone has ever done the same and how they handled it (e.g.dry ice? etc.). I will be flying in and renting a truck to pick-up the grapes,. Thanks for any help.”
Can you offer Jon some tips? Please email him directly.

“I have 38 Zinfandel grape vines. They are beautiful grapes…as of now the brix is 24.5.
The vines are 6 years old and production quite good, I think.
I’m unable to make wine this year and would like to give my grapes to someone. Of course, I’d also like to get some wine. Year before last if picked almost 340 pounds. I will pick the grapes…is there any interest out there?”
The vineyard is in Folsom.
