Food Grade Plastic 15.5 Gallon Beer Kegs for Sale

Contact David Hicks at 925 997-1997.

David Hicks writes:

A local Lake County brew pub is switching their plastic kegs to stainless steel and has 14 for sale.  I am using 4 for storage before bottling and they work great. The pressure spear is removed and they take a standard 2″ bung.  Their price is $60 each and if anyone would like to buy some please call me so I can have him tag them for me.  It’s easy for me bring the kegs to the club meeting for you to pick up.

Shaker Ridge Vineyard Announces Second Annual Competition

Contact Andy Standeven at shakerridge@wildblue.net.

Shaker Ridge Vineyard is pleased to announce Shaker Ridge Vineyard’s second annual competition to recognize home winemakers who compete successfully with this vineyard’s grapes.  The grand prize is 250 lbs. of Shaker Ridge Vineyard grapes that are still “available for sale” redeemable for the 2014 or 2015 season.  Please see this link for competition details.

Shaker Ridge Vineyard grapes show well in both commercial and home wine competitions.  Check out this list!

Vineyard owners Andy and Elizabeth Standeven, also home winemakers and SHW members, are strong supporters of home winemakers.  As with last year, Beginning Winemakers Varietal Focus Group will be making Shaker Ridge’s primitivo.  Another 2014 varietal focus group will be making port with five Portuguese varietals from the vineyard’s “Quinta” acreage.

For this upcoming harvest, Shaker Ridge has small quantities of barbera, primitivo and touriga nacional still available.  For real-time availability, click on this link and find the latest “Current Grape Availability” post on the right side of the page.
