It has come to my attention that the Winemaker of the Year Entry Form contains an error. According to the Winemaker of the Year Competition criteria, if five or more wines are entered, 3 wines may be excluded, not 2 as the Entry Form indicates. I will be reviewing all entries to make sure and contact you to resubmit your form if necessary. Entries are due by Saturday, November 30, 2013, to Donna Bettencourt, firstname.lastname@example.org, or mail to: 5208 8th Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95820
Contact President Gary Young for additional information: 916 451-3893 and email@example.com.

Take the beautiful drive to Amador next weekend and enjoy a special pouring by Peter and Debi Goedeck of Peter’s Gate Winery at Amador Vintage Market on Main Street in Plymouth. Three different wines each day will be paired with appetizers prepared by Beth Sogaard.

This weekend, John’s picking the petite sirah from a Somerset vineyard (Fair Play/El Dorado County) he’s helping manage. If you’re interested in getting some, they are yours for the picking. Last weekend, the sugars were 21 degrees Brix and the pH at 3.28. Hopefully by this weekend the readings will reflect 22 and 3.3, respectively.
